What is Pet Project, Inc.?

Pet Project, Inc. is a nonprofit (tax exempt) corporation that was formed in 1998 by a small group of individuals who wanted to respond to a need in our community to help homeless and abandoned animals.

What Is Pet Project's Policy Statement?

It is the policy of Pet Project, Inc. to take appropriate action to protect animals who appear to be abandoned, neglected, tormented, deprived of necessary food, water, exposed to heat or cold, or cruelly beaten.

What does Pet Project, Inc. do for the abandoned animals?

1. Take them to the veterinarian for needed medical care and spaying/neutering.
2. Take them to the groomer for needed grooming.
3. Advertise and take pictures of them.
4. Provide foster care for the animals until we find the right home for them.
5. We give all of our furry friends the love and attention they deserve and have never received.

Who is part of Pet Project?

Only a small group of people in the community volunteer to do all of the work in Pet Project. We do everything from picking up an abandoned animal, taking them to the veterinarian and groomer, fostering them and then interviewing potential owners of the animal.

Where does Pet Project get its money?

Then only source of money for Pet Project is from donations and fund raisers. Because the actual "hands on" efforts with the animals takes so much time, we have very little time or energy to devote to fundraising for the animals. Without generous people giving money to Pet Project, we would not be able to continue our organization and help the homeless animals.

What does Pet Project do with the money it receives?

The money is used for the medical care, spaying/neutering, grooming, food and other special needs of the abandoned animals.

What can you do to help Pet Project help our furry friends?

1. Donate money.
2. Help with fundraising activities.
3. Provide foster care for the animals until they are adopted.
4. Volunteer in other respects, such as writing thank you notes, decorating the float in the Roughrider parade, distribute our donation dog houses to businesses and collect the money, etc.

What are Pet Project's goals?

We need land and a facility to house and care for the homeless animals.
